Jeanne has been working with technology companies expanding globally for over 25 years. From the largest multinationals – IBM to early StartUps coming to the U.S. to scale their business or leaving the U.S. to seek new markets.
The explosive growth of micro-multinationals enabled by the internet has created an urgent need, on the part of young companies, for expert domestic and international tax advise in order to avoid penalties or unexpected tax costs.
We provide US tax services and assist in selecting and coordinating non US tax services in order to design global structures and meet tax requirements on an ongoing basis.. Our experience and lower overhead costs allow us to price our services at an affordable rate, suitable to a young company.

OBJECTIVES
To assist entrepreneurs of emerging growth companies who are seeking to expand operations in the US and internationally.
CHALLENGE
A growing number of emerging growth companies are benefiting from advanced technology and are able to grow their business across borders at an increasing pace. At the same time, governments are seeking to impose an increasing amount of data and tax requirements in a global, coordinated manner as indicated by the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development’s (OECD) Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) initiative. Service providers and tax advisors are in the crosshairs, faced with dealing with an increasing number of smaller clients, (referred to as micro-multinationals by tax authorities) with increasingly larger and more complex issues. Entrepreneurs are having difficulty finding qualified advisors at an affordable price that can help them navigate the complex technical issues and avoid surprising current tax costs and penalties which can easily arise when engaging in cross border business activities.
VALUE PROPOSITION
While the sophisticated CPA firm environment offers a depth of expertise in numerous technical specialty areas, most entrepreneurs have neither the resources for highly tailored services nor do they have “in house,” the perspective of a Chief Tax Officer (CTO) who is capable of interpreting, balancing and adapting specialized tax technical advise to their early stage business. As a former tax director, I can assist you in identifying, prioritizing and dealing with tax issues that must be addressed. Where expert opinions are required, I can evaluate, coordinate and “scope” assignments to maximize value to the client while minimizing costs. The entrepreneur and management team is then free to focus on the growing their business.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
With a wide range of experience, in both public accounting (large and small) and private industry, specifically addressing both domestic and international emerging growth companies, Internet and e-commerce enabled business; I provide experience in developing suitable offerings and a perspective that could provide a competitive advantage to a CPA firm interested building a new service delivery model to address this market segment.
As a Sr. Consultant at a mid-size regional CPA firm, I developed a practice to address the needs of NYC Technology Start-Ups. I then expanded the offering to include the more complex needs of NON US Scale-Ups, coming to the US to raise VC funding and to tap the US market.
As IBM executive responsible for e-Commerce Solutions, Global Services and Global Software business units, I functioned as a CTO to discuss and advise the business units regarding tax optimization and transaction tax compliance.
As IBM tax leader in tax policy for e-commerce in the late 1990’s and 2000’s, I participated as a Technical Advisor to the OECD and collaborated globally with technology companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, EBay, HP etc. as well as 20 government members of the OECD in addition to selected developing nations and academics from prestigious universities with the mission of shaping global policy to permit and allow for the proliferation, growth and expansion of INTERNET business and activities.
